AX1800 - 2.4 Ghz and smart devices not connecting

Not able to connect my Smart Bulbs and other devices to the 2.4 Ghz. The SSID shows up but there's only one SSID for both the 2G and 5G networks. Then my smart devices app can't connect to the network. It says to make sure I'm connected a 2G network.

I called customer support and spent 2 hours on the phone and got nowhere. PLEASE ADVISE!  Thanks :)

Make sure the phone that you're setting it up on is on the 2.4ghz signal. its poor coding on the app makers part but most IoT devices need the phone on the same band that the smart devices get connected to.

You can simply shut off smart connect on the router for the time being, make sure the 5ghz network is named something else (add -5g to the name), then put the phone on the same band and go through the setup process.

Once the devices are connected, turn smart connect back on.

Thanks. However, the mesh system doesn't have the "Smart Connect" feature. I'm not able to do what you're saying.

        PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

In order to connect my smart devices my phone has to be on the 2.4Ghz network.

Step 1: unplug the 2 satellites to minimize the 5G range.

Step 2: set smart device into pairing mode

Step 3: walk to my backyard in order to get out of 5G range and only 2G range

Step 4: CONNECTED!!! Set up smart device

Step 5: Repeat as necessary for additional smart devices
