AX8 AX6000

After completing  the installation of the Eax80 WI-FI extender I notice when I go into the Nighthawk App and under devices it shows a 2.4GHZ and 5GHZ. Under the 2.4GHZ are my two AT&T cell phones. Under the 5GHZ I see computer and smart TV’s.

My question is this correct. In that we have poor cell phone service I was hoping the cell phones take advantage of the 5GHz.

Was my setup done incorrectly?

    It is up to the wifi clients your anonymous cell phones to connect to the wifi connection that suits them best.

     

    The router has no control over that.

     

    As the EAX80 is an extender, you might like to look at the router it talks to. That controls your network.,

     

    Do you have Smart Connect enabled?

        Extender. You haven't said what the router is, so we don't know if it supports that feature.
