Cannot connect to 2.4 Ghz OR 5Ghz on EX7000 extender

Bought my EX7000 AC1900 WiFi Range Extender some time ago to provide coverage to remote areas of our home and outdoor areas. It worked like a charm for six months or a year, but recently I've noticed that when I connect to it (usually via 2.4G since 5G never seems to work), I cannot get any internet service (i.e. "Connected, No Internet" message appears).

I finally got around to logging into the machine this afternoon, did the firmware update, rebooted, and still can't connect from either phones (iPhone, Android) or computers (Windows, Mac). Anybody have any idea what's going on here? I'm using as a range extender for my Comcast Xfinity modem (located downstairs on the only outside wall Comcast would install on).

  • I have a similar setup to yours. Comcast Wifi Router and Netgear EX7000 Wifi Externder. The 2.4Ghz band started dropping off about every day for the last few months. I tried upgrading to the latest firmware with no luck. I read on a few other boards that users were having similar issues. I have dropped back to Version 1.0.0.38 last version of the original train of 1.0.0.30. Wifi Extender has been stable for over two weeks. I'm not sure which version of code broke the 2.4 Ghz band. I recommend dropping back in code versions.

    Good Luck!
