Cannot connect to 5Ghz on EX7000 extender
Hello guys, I have a very strange problem. I bought the range extender EX7000 because I had good experiences with my previous 2500RP. I unpacked it new from the box, opened the genie in the browser....

Hi,
I had a similar problem with my EX7000 when I got it a couple days ago, however I got mine working.
First I would get as many devices as I could to see if you can connect anything to the 5Ghz. Also I would try resetting the router back to factory default settings and then trying to connect to the 5Ghz through the extender without changing any of the settings on the router.
Also try putting the extender in 'fast lane' mode and check to see if you can connect to the 5Ghz from the extender, while it is connected to the router via 2.4Ghz.
The fact that I could connect to the extender's 5Ghz while it was in 'fast lane' lead me to belive the source of my problem was the router. Maybe some router settings just aren't that compatible with this extender. I'm 99% sure it was my WMM settings that was messing with the 5Ghz.

Thank you very much! I tried the fast lane. Which in fact is quite a hidden feature when you configure the extender.
Now everything is working smoothly in the fastlane mode. I use it to connect at 2,4Ghz and repeat it as a 5Ghz signal. Perfect speeds and no interference on the 2,4Ghz band anymore. You saved my weekend!Good job!
