In the Extender's user manual, 2 of the steps that describe how to get the MAC addresses that you need to add to the router.are as follows:
7. Scroll down and select Connected Devices.
The Connected Devices section displays the MAC addresses and virtual MAC addresses
for computer and WiFi devices that are connected to the extender network.
8. On the router, add all of the virtual MAC addresses from your extender to your router’s MAC
filter table.
I can't login to the extender to get those addresses because I can't get onto the internet with a device that is on the extender's network. It's a Catch22. You need to get on the internet to login to the extender with a device that's on the extender's network (so that you can get those MAC addresses), yet I can't get on the extender's network to login as that is the problem I am trying to fix (not getting an internet connection).

You don't need to get online to get those addresses.
all you need is the IP address for the extender.
that should be in the router's attached devices list (or whatever your router uses)

To update my story. Powered down my main Asus router for 10 min again, plugged it back in, then plugged in extender, and everything magically reconnected. Not sure why this didn't work the first time.
