Can't connect range extender to new Comcast router

Extender was working fine until I got a new Comcast router today.  Now it won't connect. I already reset the extender to its factory default settings.  Automatic WPS connection did not work, so tried to connect using laptop.  Was able to access extender wirelessly but could not then open a new browser window to connect to mywifiext.net per the instructions.  Tried connecting the extender to the router with ethernet cable (this was a suggestion on-line) but still unable to get to mywifiext.net.  Without getting to that site I cannot connect the extender to my new router.  Would appreciate any help.  I am a novice at this and already well beyond my comfort zone.

    Hello jim322

I know you said you connected the extender to the router via Ethernet but have you tried to connect your laptop to the extender via Ethernet and then try to log into www.mywifiext.net. Also make sure you hold down the reset button for 10 seconds when doing a factory reset on the extender.

Darren - thanks for the reply.  I definitely held the reset button for more than 10 seconds and I believe the reset worked properly.  I just tried connecting the laptop to the extender by ethernet but unfortunatlely nothig changed - I cannot get a window to open and connect to wwww.mywifiext.net using either Google Chrome or Internet Explorer.  Any other suggestions would be appreciated.  My extender is not that old and I definitely did not expect to have to replace it just because I got a new router from Comcast.  Thanks for your help.
