Comcast xfinityx1 using C3700 cable modem for dsl network

Have tried four different wifi extenders/repeaters. All with the same tyyoe of failing. Problem seems to be that when the extender is connected to my C3700 (two cheapies, one amped/wireless and NetGear N2700 I think) I get the same results and no connection. MyC3700 wifi availability Iin the tray is NETGEAR43_EXT, not the extender_2.4 and extender_5.0 that should be shown in the tray as available to allow for boost connection. Am probably more in my own way in this endeavor than anything else in these attempts. OBVIOUSLY AN OLD DOG TRYING TO STAY CONNECTED.::smileysad:

If you did not rename the extender when setting it up then it would show as you routers name followed by _EXT
