Configuration Question on Nighthawk EX8000

Just purchased a Nighthawk EX8000 extender. The firmware is on the latest revision as I just updated it today as I was configuring it. I have a question about a possible se...
You could use 2 EX8000s. The one on the first floor would need to be in extender mode. If you use the existing ethernet drop to connect the two EX8000s, the one on the second floor would be in AP mode.
Also sorry almost forgot would it be the port on the far left or right as netgear doesnt have anything labelled on the ports.
