configure wnr2000 as access point
Hi
I have a CVG824G wireless modem/router supplied by my ISP and I have a 30m ethernet cable connecting a laptop in my garage. Unfortunately wireless extenders still wont get the signal down there.
I also have a WNR2000 that I would like to install in my garage as an access point so I can use wireless devices down there (printer, tablets etc).
I just cant seem to be able to get into the WNR2000 to turn off the DHCP and change the IP Address as detailed on the forum stick thread
http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1080
Whenever I log into 192.168.0.1 I can only access the CVG824G modem router and not the WNR2000 - is there something that I am doing wrong?
Love any help
cheers
Sean

Start by disconnecting the WNR2000 from the network leaving just one cable connection between it and the computer you are using to configure it, then reset it to factory defaults by holding the reset button for around 30 seconds or so - at that point you should be able to access it at the default address which I believe is 192.168.1.1. - jmizoguchiVirtuosohttp://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/965

Thread is posted based on model and not network method - gwtechie72AspirantI have two WNR2000 one is connected to my modem.. and I am trying to configure the second modem as a AP. After researching how to setup an AP, and going through the steps setting it up .I am not successful
Based on the steps I have to change the range of the IP disable the router's DHCP (enabling AP is even in the same screen) after disabling the DHCP I cant get back in to the modem to enable AP mode. Can some please assist me with this? I am stuck and not sure what I am doing wrong - jmizoguchiVirtuosoFollow #3 URL
