Connecting my WN2500RP extender
My WN2500RP extender sees my network on the "mywifiext.net". However, when I put in my passphrase I get this: "The Extender was not able to connect to your existing network. If you entered the ...

Hi MaeS,
Is this your first time setting up the WN2500RP?
Please try connecting your computer to the WN2500RP via ethernet wire and follow the instructions provided on page 22 of 86:
http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/WN2500RPV2/WN2500RPv2_UM_28May2014.pdf
Which router is connected to the WN2500RP? Please update it to the latest firmware.
You can also try resetting your router to factory defaults then try setting up the WN2500RP.

I have the same issue. The extender can see the wifi router but won't connect. I've tried WPS (option 1), also connecting via a computer (option2). I tried disabling security on the router but I still get the same issue.
I've also tried using an ethernet cable from extender to computer.
Nothing seems to work. I'm using the Orcon genius router.
Any sugestions??

Hi stevenmurdoch99,
Can you please confirm which version of WN2500RP you have?
http://support.netgear.com/product/WN2500RPhttp://support.netgear.com/product/WN2500RPv2
Power on the WN2500RP
Press and hold the Restore Factory Settings button on the rear panel for 7 seconds. The extender resets, and returns to its factory settings.
Now try using a different ethernet cable from the extender to your computer.
Then follow the instructions for setting up via mywifiext.net or 192.168.1.250 in your browser
Check if your Orcon Genius Router has a new firmware update by visiting their website.

I've tried resetting the Extender and the Router several times with no luck.
I have the WN2500RP
I have lots of other devices that connect to the Router ok which makes me think there is some issue with the Extender or its settings.
