connecting to mywifiext.net

My EX2700 range extender was working fine, until I lost internet service for a few days.  When internet service was restored, the EX2700 no longer worked.  I tried to reset the connection to no avail.  My router's WPS button does not work (the indicater light is dark) so I tried connecting with an ethernet cable from the LAN port of the EX2700 to my laptop,  The NETGEAR_EXT network name did not appear.  I cannot procede any further.

The EX2700 doesn't support access point mode. If you haven't re-setup the device, plugging it into you laptop isn't going to connect back to router.  it will allow you to access it over the hardwired connection.

What are all the led's on it doing? Be specific listing which led, color, blinking/solid.

What router are you connecting back to? Firmware on it?

    Here's what I'd recommend.

    1. Reset the device again. I know you did it once but humor me. Hold reset 7-10 seconds.

    2. Hardwire into the device with your laptop.

    3. to go mywifiext.net  (does it work?)

    4. Redo your setup manually without using the wps function. Maybe the main router's wps function isnt' working?

    5. Check your firmware on the device. make sure its current.

Did this work? Where did it fail if not?

Here's the support page for the ex2700. It'll have the manual, install guide, and most recent firmware.

I am not a tech expert.  I do not know what firmware the EX2700 has installed nor my modem.  I know that I purchased the extender in 2017 so I assume it is not the latest firmware.  the lights that are lit  are the power and the WPS light and they are both  solid green.  the device and router lights are not lit.
I have rebooted  as per your instructions.  I have hardwired the device to the laptop.  However I cannot access the website.  Even though I can access the internet from the computer I am using and can use my email and other websites, the mywifiext.netsite does not come up (I mostly get an error message - too slow to connect).  When I am able to connect, I get a login page which does not accept my login nor the admin/password login that the instructions say should be acceptable.
As per directions from the manual, when I connect an ethernet cable to the LAN port of the EXT and the LAN port on my computer the LED should blink.  Which LED? There are only 4 on the EX2700.  1. Power  2. WPS  3. Device  4. Router
There is no change in any of  the LED lights.  The first 2 are solid green and the other 2 are dark.

      Thank you for your patience

If you're leaving your wifi on when you connect to the extender, your computer is defaulting to that connection. Try this route.

        1. Download the most current firmware for your device. Extract it to your computer so you have it for later.

        2. Hardwire into the extender.

        3. Shut off the wifi on your device you're connecting to the extender.

        4. Now try the mywifiext.net

Were you able to get to the login page?

If you're fully reset the device the login of admin and password of password should work. If it doesn't, try resetting it again. while its powered up, hold the reset button until the lights change. (shouldn't take more than 7-10 seconds but hold up to 30 if lights aren't blinking)
