Connecting WiFi Capable Grill/Smoker Through AC1900 Extender On Home Network
I have a new grill/smoker that is wifi capable. I can connect my iPhone to the grill via wifi as a point to point device. It also uses 2.4G to connect to my home network. The location of my grill ...

OK, as I had some time on my hands I went ahead and tried once again to connect the Wifi Smoker through the Extender 2GEXT network. It took about 5mins but the Smoker finally connected to the Extender 2GEXT network and I was able to control the grill from my iPhone. Not sure why it didn't work the first dozen times I tried it but today it worked. Now I just need to remember the steps I took it make it work. ;-)

Hello hawgwildterry
Yes you should be able to connect it using the extender do you have any problems with any other device connecting to the extender?

DarrenM,
I have not tried to connect any other device through the Extender. This past weekend I again tried to connect the WiFi Green Mountain Davey Crocket Smoker to my home network using the NETGEAR08_2GEXT network. I had negative results and ended up just using the Smoker as a WiFi point to point device on my iPhone 6. As my Nighthawk home routers 2.4g signal is so weak where the Smoker is located, I did not even bother to try and connect it. As mentioned in my original post, the Smoker will connect to my standard 2.4G network if it is in my garage….but obviously that is not practical and therefore the reason I purchased the Extender.
Thank you for getting back to me.
