connectivity ax1800 issues

My computer, my wife's and friends iphone all find and connect with password to my netgear extender.  However, my iphone (same updated op) and smart tvs, all easily within range, find the extender but will not connect.  The phone asks for password and still will not connect.  The tvs do not ask for password.

what router are you connecting it to?

did you set it up using wps or using the installation assistant?

Also, what extender is it? AX1800 is a speed, not a model.

Hi, thank you!  The model is EAX20 and it is connected to a new Frontier Communications router via CAT5 cable.  It was interesting that by the time the extender powered up, my laptop recognized it and connected.  This made me concerned about security, so I went in to set up a password.  That went fine and my computer connected with the password as does my wife's and friend's iphone.  It's only my iphone and two smart tvs that won't connect.  Re: set up, other than adding the password, nothing else has been done.  Btw - the reason that I bought the extender and new tvs, etc was due to a lighting strike.  That strike killed my computer CAT5 input card, so I needed a quick fix for my work connectivity.

So the EAX20 is hardwired into your router?

did you set it up in access point mode?

You changed the ssid/password on it or left it default?

Make sure there isn't any special characters or spaces in the ssid/password.

Did you try disabling AX on the extender? Its been a while but I've seen some older devices with issues connecting to AX. Usually you can update their drivers directly from the manufacturer and they work but an easy test is to disable AX.
