Different password for the extender and router
Can the EX6100 WiFi extender have a different password than the router?

Are you referring to the admin password or Wi-Fi password?

Hello,
Are you saying that the admin password for the router can be different from the Wi-Fi password? I want to make sure that noone else can get into my extender. I do understand that we would all be on the same router. However, I need all of the signal stregnth that I can get in this location and don't want anyone else on it.

Trying to translate ... you don't want other WiFi STA (clients, like computers, moble phones, tables, IoT, ...) associating with the extender.
Netgear extenders are automatically configuring dedicated SSID for the extender AP. The existing WiFi network name, ie. "MyNetworkName" does default to the new extended WiFi network names. "MyNetworkName_2GEXT" and "MyNetworkName_5GEXT".By default, the Netgear extenders are configuring the same "password" (very poor wording .. in fact WPA-PSK or pre-shared key). Newer extenders allow in Settings -> Wireless - WiFi Settings ot change from "Same as exsiting network password" to a dedicated, locally managed WPA-PSK per radio.
Avoid using the same SSID on the main router and the Extender if different WPA-PSK are set in place.
