Does EX8000 offer Tri-band (2.4/5.0-1/5.0-2) is extender mode or only the 2.4 & 5.0 band

Does the EX8000 offer true tri-bands in extender mode (2.4G/5.0G-1/5.0G-2) or only 2.4G and a selection of either 5.0G-1 or 5.0G-2 for a backhaul?

It seems like AP mode offers all three band but extender mode offered only 2 bands.   Is this right?

  • There is no Netgear sales here (wild guess).

In extender mode, the 5 GHz 4x4 radio is used to establish the backhaul connection to the primary router 5 GHz network, only the 5 GHz 2x2 and the 2.4 GHz are serving as access points to allow the association with wireless clients - this is what Netgear does promote as FastLane3 technology.

In AP mode, all three radios can serve for associating wireless clients.

  • What is the answer?  Cannot NEtGEAR Sales answer this simple question?

This seems like a simple question.
