EX 2700 Can't get WPS to stop flashing

Hi, hope  don't come off as too stupid, I am following the steps...I want to see if this will help with the firestick plugged in behind the TV in another room. It should, right?   I plugged in the EX 2700 behind my desktop with Arris Surfboard 6580 modem nearby. The netgear power turns on. I hit WPS button on the extender and it only flashes green for a bit (then goes dark) after I hit the WPS button on the bottom of the modem. I see the Netgear_Ext on my Wifi setting. It says No internet access, I get that...Should the Arris WPS button turn the wifi icon flashing amber?

    Try setting up the ex2700 using the smart installation method and not using wps. WPS between different device manufacturers can get coded different and not always work. Which is why there's also the smart installation method.
