Hi hkitcat,
Is this your current setup?
Sky Router - - - (WiFi) - - - EX6100---(wire)---TP Link Switch---(two wires)----to both computers.
It's possible that you may be experiencing interference from neighboring networks, please see the following to change your WiFi channel to one that is less crowded:
http://help.sky.com/articles/speed-up-your-sky-broadband-by-changing-your-wireless-channel
Can you please describe what colors are blinking on the EX6100 router and client LEDs?
Can you also confirm that the EX6100 is running firmware version: 1.0.1.36?
(When connected to the EX6100's network, open a web browser and login to mywifiext.net , user=admin, password=password)
You can also perform a full factory reset on your Sky router and also on your EX6100 (**Please note this will reset all settings on your router/extender):
- Router - While your router is switched on, press and hold a blunt pointed object (such as a pen) in the small reset button on the back until the test light blinks, then release the button. This will take approximately 10 seconds
- EX6100 - Insert a paper clip into the Factory Reset hole and hold it until the Power LED blinks amber. Release the button. All the LEDs turn off for about 3 seconds. The Power LED lights solid amber for about 30 seconds. The Power LED lights solid green. The extender returns to its factory settings
