EX2700 – N300 WiFi Range Extender hardware issue with power?
I have had this product for almost a year now and it has not had many issues other than a few connection drops. In the last couple of days it has stopped working as it was and I am unable to get use out of it.
The power LED emits no light and the WPS LED emits a very faint green light light. This is how it was when I discovered it was not working. It does not appear on the network.
I tried removing it from the power source, leaving it a while and plugging it back in. The power light was green initially but the device also emits a high pitch sound. Then the power light went out and the WPS light very dim. I reset again and all of the light came back on, it connected to the network and was usable for about two hours.
Since then no matter what I try it sits in the same state, dim green light on the WPS and now power LED light at all. At no point did I ever see any orange lights. When I allow power to the device the high pitch sounds for about an hour then seems to rest. It has been like this for a few days now
It would be a shame if the hardware has simply failed as I would not feel confident replacing it with another netgear product in that case and it has worked okay up until now. I thought I would ask here and see if anyone has a better idea of what had happened.

Hello TheArtist
It does sound like a hardware failure if the product is still under warranty contact support
