EX2700 Slow Wifi Speeds

We've been looking for a range extender solution on the cheaper end, and decided to try the EX2700. Easy to connect and hook up, but the wireless speeds are horrid no matter what we do. We have tried 3 of these with the same issue.

  • INET Advertised Speeds 600mpbs / 150mbps
  • Direct to Router Speeds (554d / 143 u)
  • WiFi Speeds (325d / 89u)
  • EX2700 WiFi Speeds (10mbps / 3mbps)
  • EX2700 Wired Speeds (309d / 81u)

We have tried different channels, factory resets, and swapped the device a couple times. The funny thing is that we get a fine speed connected wired to the EX2700, but WiFi on its network no matter what we do, doesn't move off 10mpbs max.

Beign the nerd I am, I push this test a little farther. Lets test 2 routers.

  • ASUS AC-N68U (Our normal day to day router.)
  • Netgear AC3600 Nighthawk (Someone recycled it, but hey it works)

Same issues. This device advertises up to 300mbps over 2.4ghz, but I couldnt get it above 10 no matter what.

As a final foot note, town has quarter acre lots and I'm a corner lot with a large back yard. Using a couple apps to show me whats being used in the area only shows my routers 2.4 / 5g networks, no one elses. I would also rule this out since a wired connection is fine at those speeds.

Hello tkemp - Have you tried changing the wireless channels on your router? Would you mind telling us what firmware version your extender is on? Also, if you recently purchased the device, your device is provided with 90 days of complimentary support which can be accessed using the link below.
