EX2700

HI I just purchased a Netgear Ex2700 wifi extender.  I have a motorola SURFboard  SBG6580 router.  I tried connecting with WPS but I couldn't because  the router dosen't have a WPS button.  So I resetted the WIFi extender to factory settings.  I then tried the Web Brower setup I used a WiFi manager to connect to the extender the device link led lights up,  but the Netgear genie dosen't automatically startup.  So when I type the www.mywifiext.net in my browser I get an error message that I can't find this page.  What do I do now.  Also when I tried downloading the firmware for this device and tried installing It says that the file is corrupt and it says this for every version I tried to install.  Thanks for all your help.
