EX3700 Cannot Update Firmware

Hi, can anyone assist me with the update of firmware for the EX3700?

I have seen many people have issues before, and I am finally getting round to it now as well out of date, but cannot update as the extender returns that the firmware file is invalid.

I have done the usual stuff of downloading the zip from netgear, unzipping so that I have the .chk file available but the extender doesn't like it no matter which release I use.

I have looked at solutions online but nothing works so if anyone knows what the fix is I would be grateful otherwise this will have to go in the bin for an alternative brand as armour reports huge security flaws

Thanks in advance

  • I have resolved the issue myself.  It turns out that if you go into the Netgear support site and look up your device (EX3700) it suggests that the firmware is a .chk file.  The documentation also says this is correct.

However, if you login to my netgear and click on your product the download is an .img file which works - just a bad support site I guess.

what firmware version are you on?

You can use the snipping tool to take a video of what you're doing. Thats sometimes faster and allows us to see whats happening/going wrong.

glad you got it working. Its usually either a .img or .chk

        either work
