EX3700 Device Light orange/red on AC750/EX3700

I've had this device for 6-7 months and it has been working fine until recently.   My router lights are all green, however the device light on the right side is usually orange or red now.  I've read through some posts and user manual that this can mean it is too far from the modem, however I don't think that's my problem.    I moved it to where it is now within 20-30 feet at most with nothing obstructing the signal from the modem and its still happening.   If I have to move it even closer than that then what is really the point of the extended if that's even the issue. 

Anyone possibly have this issue?
