Ex3700 router light turned red
Hello. We purchased the ex3700 on May 18th. Setup was a breeze and worked fantastic until tonight. We are staying in an AirB&B and using 1 IPad and 1 iPad Pro. The router we are using belongs to the owner of the store downstairs. It was after hours but the owner let me in to look at the extender. In the past, twice it was accidentally disconnected and I was hoping that is what happened tonight. Unfortunately the unit was plugged in.
As far as I am told, nothing was changed, updated etc... with the router. I unplugged the extender and waited a minute or so and plugged it back in. All the lights turn green but after a few minutes, the router light changes to amber and finally red. So does the device light. The other 2 lights stay green.
in the morning, I will do a reset, but if that doesn't work, I will return it to amazon and order another one. But I hate to return things and I was hoping that maybe someone else had the same issue and found the solution if there is one.
Unfortunately I don't have a way to update the firmware if that is what's needed and no idea what firmware it is currently.
Any help would be much appreciated.

The router link led is the link from extender to router. If its amber and then red, it means the connection back to the router is poor.
it could be that suddenly there's interference in the wifi band the router is on or maybe the router was moved to a location that is now blocking the wifi signal. With extenders, little things like hvac in walls can block signals so sometimes moving an extender a few feet in each direction can get it out from the blockage. You can also try changing the wifi channel on the primary router because potentially there now could be interference on the channel that its on. This can cause poor connections.
If you log into the extender either from a phone or pc, it should show the connection back to the router and strengths. This can help with placment. You'll also be able to find your firmware version and update from there. We usually recommend updating over a hardwired connection but if you don't have that option, it is possible to do over wireless if its got a decent signal.
The support site is an excellent resource as it has firmware, troubleshooting tips, a manual that shows how to upgrade firmware/etc.

Thank you for the link. Very much appreciated. I am about to go downstairs and try to troubleshoot it. One other detail that I didn't include was that when upstairs, the iPads connect to the 5g signal of the extender and have all the bars. I have no idea if that is normal or not. Again, thank you for your time. I will check back with the results.

Went downstairs to the store, all lights are green and it is back to working. The owner wasn't there, I'll ask her Monday if she did anything.
