EX3700 Wifi Range Extender - saying network key is incorrect?!

I recently changed my broadband and now having trouble trying to connect my devises (mobile phone etc) to the range extender. When asked to enter my new wifi password when trying to connect to my extender it is saying the password is incorrect. I had this problem the day I bought the product and had to speak to the Netgear Support team on the phone and was speaking to them for over an hour and it cost me £40+. I am not doing that again! I have pressed a pin in the range extender to reset it to factory settings and still nothing!! Why am I having this problem again?! Please help....

    Hello Tjw1991

Make sure you have held the reset button down for 10 seconds or more to make sure the settings are cleared also make sure your router is using WPA2 security type.

  • How do I know that my router is using WPA2? Thanks for the reply.

      Hello Tjw1991

In the wireless setting of the router you should see a option called security type thats what you want to check.

      Hello TJW1991

Have you tried to connect to the modem using WPS?

  • Hi,

I'm not sure how to do that? I have tried to fiddle with settings and can't seem to find anything regarding using WPA2 or WPS
  • I found the security settings, the only options were WPA2-Personal, WPA2-Enterprise, 802.1X & No authentication (open).

I have tried to change it to all the other options but it says there is an error when saving the wireless profile. "Specific error: The network connection profile is corrupted."

I think I may have to buy another extender compatible with my router and WPA2 security.
  • Hi Darren,

Still don't have this sorted and it's becoming a problem now. I really don't want to have to ring the Netgear support team as it will end up costing me a ridiculous amount of money, like it did the last time!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
