EX6100 updated firmware, now thinks it's a WN3500RP

Using the EX6100 extender to boost signal from a router on another floor of the house.

My browser was resetting and prompting me to log in to the extender, so I did, reset the connections, and then noticed that there was a firmware update. It told me it was going to update from v1.0.0.28 to v.1.0.1.36. I clicked "Update" and let it do its thing.

When the extender came back online and I logged back in, it now gives me graphics and logos for the NetGear WN3500RP, Firmware Version
V1.0.0.22_1.0.62. I manually downloaded the correct EX6100 firmware update and tried again, but now it tells me it's the wrong firmware!

What gives?

In the last day or two, mywifiext.com has loaded with a brand new interface, which I believe is the correct EX6100 updated firmware page. This was one of the firmware version feature notes, ("New look-and-feel on web GUI.") But it doesn't quite register the settings I try to change, and then when I refresh it, it reverts back the old interface with the WN3500RP logos and versions.

What is happening? Is it possible that it simultaneously uploaded two conflicting version updates? Why does it insist on telling me that it's a WN3500RP device when it's not?

Most importantly, if I try to reset to factory defaults and start again, am I going to get totally screwed and have it revert to the factory settings for the WN3500RP? Because I really don't want that.

      Hello tim112358

Did you ever try the factory reset and if so did it revert back to the WN3500RP interface?
