EX6120 AC1200 DUAL BAND not accepting router password

Hi all,

Hopefully I'm missing something obvious but it doesn't seem like it.

I have installed the WiFi extender correctly and the ext2G and 5G networks appear on my device WiFi as options to connect to.

I click to connect to them, input my router password however, every time it says "check password and try again"

I've had reset the extender multiple times, changed my router password but nothing seems to work.

Any ideas?

What router are you connecting it to?

What firmware is on the extender?

Did you set it up via wps? if so, i'd highly recommend resetting the extender and re-setting it up using the installation wizard. Wps can get coded differently between manufacturers and this can cause issues.

      Hi Plemans,

Apologies for the delay, been away on holiday.

I'm connecting it to a Vodafone broadband router.

Firmware of the extender is as up to date as it can be I think...

I have been connecting it via WPS button as when I try and connect via the wizard, it tells me it can't connect either, that it only works with the nighthawk routers/extenders, so having a bit of a nightmare with it haha

Connect to the extender, connect the extender to your mystery router? we need specifics and details.  that it only works with the nighthawk routers/extenders----what only works with the nighthawk routers? the extender? no they work with most routers, so having a bit of a nightmare with it haha

Have you tried connecting a pc/laptop to the extender (disable the pc/laptops wireless so it doesn't default back to that option) and running setup that route? maybe try a different pc/browser

Thank you, I was having the exact same problem and your solution worked.

FYI Once connected to the extender network NETGEAR_NET I could not connect to the website to set up the extender via Chrome I had to use Internet Explorer.
