EX6150/AC1200 WiFi range extender

Hello,
I had to reconfigure my Netgear EX6150 AC1200 WiFi Range Extender to my new router. If I connect it to a to my router via an ethernet cable, everything works fine (I can access the setup wizard and I can connect to the access points).

However, once I unplug the ethernet cable and plug the extender somewher else, the Router Link LED light it's Off (no connection at all). The Power and WPS Lights are solid green.

Any suggestions? Many thanks,

  • Are you setting it up in access point mode while connected to it?

Make sure the switch on the side is set in extender mode during setup. So power off the device, put the switch in extender mode, and then go through setup.

I also recommend going through setup via the wizard and not wps. You said wizard but I've assumed before.

What router is it connected to?

    Firmware on the extender?

    version 1 or version 2?

      Hi Plemans,

Thanks for the advice, it fixed it! Changed it to extender mode and then went thru the wizard and everything worked again.

      Really appreciate the help, rdcl
