Have gotten all the way to "Log into new EXT network with whatever devices with wifi you want"
When I go to sign in, all I get is "Can't connect to this network"

So that setup looks perfectly ok. The only odd thing is that it is showing no client connections. Normally there would be at least one (the device that you used to set up the extender).
Is that device connected to the extender's ethernet cable? Or is it connected to the router directly?
I used my Android cell phone and it usually shows it's hooked up to the extender when I'm on my laptop but it's not showing now or in the photo because I was using my cell phone to respond to your message and in order to do so I sign back into my houses WiFi network that extender is logged into. 4 giggles I'm going to go purchase another extender today and just try to connect it and see if it works just to see if this particular model has a defect. If it does the same thing I am just beyond shocked at how difficult this is.
