The clients are being dropped. When i connect to the wifi i am able to browse for a minute or two and then it drops.
I originally had it configured as an extender, which worked fine, but it was causing too much latency on the router itself. I decided to run a cable and set up as an AP. This is when i started seing issues with connectivity to the AP’s wifi networks.

You can check the connectivity by connecting with a cell phone or tablet and going to a speed test site - see what speed you get close to the AP and then walk away and see if it drops off. There are also phhone apps available that will show you the Wi-Fi signal strength (I use WiFi Analyzer on Android) that will allow you to see your network versus other networks.
