EX6200 Extender - Have I got the right product?
Hi guys,
I need some help.
I have a Telstra NBN router into the home. I have a Swann CCTV system set up in my shed. I've purchased an EX6200 Wireless extender which I have set up and it works fine as an extender in the shed ie it picks up the Telstra wireless signall and then I plug into the Swann CCTV via a Cat 5 Lan cable.
All good so far.
I loaded the Swann Iphone app and when I'm in the shed I can view the footage on my phone from the cameras. as soon as I leave the Netgear extender range I no longer have footage.
How do I get it to transmit from the CCTV through the 6200 back through the Telstra router and then to the net so I can access the footage anywhere?
I've had a look at the EX6200 settings and can't find anything that remotely looks like a tag to allow it to broadcast back and out to the net? Have I got the right product to do this? I hope this makes sense.
Thanks
Paul

Have you set up the EX6200 to access the Internet through your modem/router?
Can you access the Internet through the extender using your iPhone?

Can you access the Internet through the extender using your iPhone? I haven't tried but I assume so.
I've had a look at the documentation but can't see anything relevant to my request.
Apologies from me as I am a bit of a technical simpleton - just having a try to get this working and got to a point I can't solve.
Thanks

You will have to set up your extender to connect to the Internet before your camera can send stuff from the CCTV to the Internet, if that is how it works. I am familiar with Netgear's Arlo hardware, which works like that.
There doesn't seem to be much point in having an extender if you cannot use it to get on to the Internet. That is the whole point of the thing.
The Swann Iphone app is probably using wifi to read the CCTV's pictures.
Perhaps your best bet is to talk to people who use the Swann technology. Get them to explain how to set it up and then work out how to transfer those settings to your Netgear system.
