EX6200 extender setup after NBN

I have had the extender working quite well for a few years without any problem. After the NBN installation, then it stopped working. So I attempted to reset the extender to connect with the new Wifi router. I have followed the procedure and press the WPS button on the extender, then also press the WPS button on the Wifi router. The WPS light on the Wifi router blinks brightly, then after a little while it goes quite dim but seems to be still blinking. On the extender, both the 2.4 GHz LED and the Device to Extender LED are green but not blinking, but when  I try to choose the xxx_2GEXT or the xxx_5GEXT network on another device, it says I cannot connect to them. The main Wifi router is a Sagemcom supplied by Optus connected to the NBN box. I tried to serach for answers online but without much success.

it wouldn't be the first time the WPS didn't work between manufacturers.  I'd skip that.

Factory reset your extender and follow the setup wizard for the extender. This tends to have better results between manufacturers. I also prefer to do the setup hardwired into the extender as well for best results.

What firmware is on your extender?

Here's where you can get the install instructions for using the setup wizard. There's written instructions as well as a video on the support site here.

How do I find out the firmware on my extender and update it?

The problem is my extender is already known as mynetwork_2GEXT or mynetwork_5GEXT from my previous setup with another modem and when I select them, I get No Internet Connection. How do I reset the extender so I can actually see the extender as NETGEAR_EXT and follow the instructions provided by Netgear and follow the video. At present the instructions from Netgear and the video are not much help.

      Thanks.

to reset the extender follow this procedure.

Turn on the extender and let it fully boot.

Once its booted, push and hold the reset button. It should only take 7-10 seconds but some have taken up to 30 seconds. You'll know you've held it long enough when the light on the extender change
