EX6200 suddenly slow in Fastlane
I have my EX6200 in Fastlane mode (5Ghz to router, 2.4 to extender and it's worked fine for over a year. Suddenly, throughput has dropped significantly so I upgraded to the lastest firmware and it f...

Exactly the same for me too.
My Ex6200 has been working fine for the last 2+ years in Fastlane with 5GHz connected to Router (& 2.4GHz out). I tend to use mine more as a bridge and have 4 devices plugged into the LAN ports so the 5GHz connection is what I need to get fastest speed.
Its been working really good with no problems until recently when the 5GHz connection now is so slow and nothing has chargned with my setup or network.
I have tried all sorts, moving router and/or EX6200 to a "better" possition, changing channel numbers etc but nothing works.
I see now the actual signal is very low and the unit seems to struggle moving files around whereas before it was great.
I am thinking maybe its a hardware issue too with maybe the radio on its way out which is a bit of a shame as it worked perfectly for what I needed it for.
The 5GHz coverage is perfectly fine as I have other devices with almost full signal in the same location which obtain full speed.
I have just changed the setting and turned off fast lane as a test and can see:
Connection to Existing Network (2.4GHz)
Signal Strength: 300 Mbps
and also
Connection to Existing Network (5GHz)
Signal Strength: 7 Mbps
So something is definately not right with it (I have also recently just upgraded the firmware too). Shame

Had exactly the same issue with mine. Eventually the 5Ghz radio failed completely and Netgrea had to replace it under warranty. The replacement unit was an older (probably refurbed model) but it's been working OK since. Sounds like your 5Ghz radio is failing like mine did.

Wow super fast reply back :)
Yeah I think you are correct, Ive tried rolling back firmware, changing fastlanes, changing modes, signal etc and nothing seems to make any difference.
I see the Signal high then low then high then low so it looks like its about to fail.
I have it in fastlane mode with 2.4GHz to router at the mo and outputting 5GHz. I am sat right next to it and amd checking the signal with my mobile, the 5GHz signal from the EX6200 is only at 66% which is very poor, whereas my 5GHz from my router (ASUS RT-68U) which is in a totally different location in the house and through a partition wall and up through the ceiling too is giving 100% (as ive just repositioned the antena to point this direction).
I checked and ive had my EX6200 since May 2014 so its not done bad as its gets plenty of use as there are a good number of PCs connected to it and its used quite intensly sometimes, but it is of course now well out of warranty.
Time to look for a suitable replacement now I think...............hmmmm
Thanks for the message back and glad you got a working replacement unit :)

I have had the exact same problem. Worked fine for years, now i''ve spent hours trying to get this to work fast. Very disapointed in Netgear. Can't seem to get anyone to talk to help. Switched to fast lane and just as bad. Speedtest under 2 mbs; when i go to Verizon Router, I am over 50mbs in Wifi. Don't know what to do? Is it a hardware or software issue; have latest firmware; is it a channel issue? At least other firms, you can get a tech expert on phone. Will never buy NetGear again.
