ex7000 need to remove old router and add new router
Hi, my old router is broken and I just set up a new Google wifi router. How do I reset the netgear extender so I can use with my new router. When I go to my wirless choices, it is still showing the ...
- Thanks for the response. It looks like the instructions ask you to log in to current set up. My router broke , so I can’t log into it.
How can I get start new without having to make changes to the current set up?
Since you're starting with a new router, I personally would just factory reset the extender and go through the configuration wizard again.
Power on the extender and wait for all of the LED's and NETGEAR logo stop blinking. Then, use a paperclip or something pointy of that nature to press and hold the small recessed "reset" button for 15 seconds on the back next to the power and "WPS" buttons. When all the lights stop blinking again, you can then reconnect to the extender's default WiFi "Netgear_EXT" or something like that. Then, in a web browser, type "mywifiext.net" into the URL bar and it should take you to the "New Extender Setup Page" and you can reconfigure the extender however you like again.

As suggested, a factory reset and reconfiguration is the best router to take for your new setup.
