EX7300 Won't Connect on 5GHz Band
Just received this today. Installation went okay, but no clients will attach to 5GHz band, and I tried four different ones --desktop, laptop, tablet, phone. I can see the 5GHz EXT just fine, but not...

I have been having the same issue. I see the 5g network on the extender, can do the full setup for the 5g network, but none of the devices I have can complete the connection to the 5g Extended network. However, all devices (phone - Samsung Note 4, tablet - Ipad, Laptop - MSI GE70) can connect to the non-extended 5g Network. Hopefully, there's a solution that will help out. Thanks!

153(p) or 157(p) works for me. 36(p) (which was the original default of my underlying Comcast router) doesn't. That's the only three I've tried.
It's interesting that you're doing 149(p) and it still doesn't work for you, as that's pretty close to my 153(p). I was thinking it might be a low range vs high range thing. You still might try forcing your underlying router to different channels to see if that clears it up for you. I understand if the underlying router will connect on that (whatever) channel then the extender should as well, but that's clearly not always the case right now, and I have found that changing the channel of the underlying router can clear up the problem at least some of the time.

Hi all,
I just setup my EX7300 and I had the same issue with the 5.0GHz on the 1st time setup and on any consecutive configurations as an Extender (not as an AP).
FYI, I have an ASUS AC5300 and its Channel is set to Auto, and it is using CH 153, so, the Ex7300 using the same CH 153 when configured. Something I noticed, though; the EX7300 does not allows you to change the channels; but my router does; however, If I do setup my router to manually, I have now to deal with the best CH that may not conflict with my neighbors...etc. so, when think about "manually", that's an add-on on my busy time.
I bought this wifi Ext. device thinking on its reputation, etc. but, I got so disapointed that on the first attempt and on the following, the 5.0GH is not friendly with home routers (looks that with any branding) ( Netgear Eng.s add the Asus AC5300 to your list).
FYI, I have another WiFi Extender Amped Wireless REC22A and have no issues with the 5.0GHz band, whatsoever... and it is using the same CH as my main router... definitively, there is something going on with this newer model on the 5.0GHz band.
And... yes, the EX7300 has the lates firmware, and I have already tried (several times) reseting it to defaults and start all over...
Something I'd like to add here... it's that I is notice, that if I power first the Ex7300 and then I reboot my Asus AC5300 router, the EX7300 will allow me to connect for a fiew secs, to the 5.0GHz band... then, I get disconnected.
Last but not least, the 2.4 GHz band had no issues at all.
PS: I'm definitively returning back this unit.
Thank you.
