EX7300v2 malfunctioning after 8 months working.

EX7300v2 installed Nov 2021; worked fine.  No change to Spectrum's router or modem.  Beginning August roughly, iPad and iPhone give strange messages ("don't recognize netgear" or "no internet access").  It appears the extender is giving a WiFi name but not the service.  Unplug the EX7300v2 and the problem goes away but weak signal returns.  Repeated setup of the extender (did not press factory reset) but still have same issue. Nighthawk app on iPhone says can't find your router but its network map function shows the extender with details (firmware 1.0.0.146, etc) but the Speedtest app on iPhone shows connection to internet service.

How are you setting up the extender?

    Using the wps push button?

    Using the app?

What router is it connected to?

Thanks for the questions.  I set up the Netgear EX7300V2 via the user manual as an Extender using the WPS function; never used the Nighthawk App on the iPhone other than to view info.  After setup in Nov 2021, used SpeedTest app on iPhone to verify improvement.  Plus, we stopped having WiFi “drop-off” issues with iPads and iPhones.

Both desktops are ethernet connected to the router so never any internet issue with the PC’s.

The router is from Charter (aka: Spectrum).  There is no manufacturer name or model name on the router.   Both router and modem installed Sept 2019. I don’t remember how I know but my notes from Dec 2019 say router made in Taiwan by Askey Computer Corp, rev 1, and supports 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual band 2.4/5 GHz, MU-MIMO, IPv4/IPv6 Dual-Stack.

Try factory resetting the extender and setting it up using the installation assistant and NOT wps.

Reason I say that is these ISP supplied routers sometimes get sketchy updates that can cause issues.

Sometimes installing with the installation assistant can help
