ex8000 nighthawk X6S mesh network via AP mode

I have a Nighthawk X6S EX8000 and would like to know if the mesh WiFi will still work if in AP mode?

 

I have a Nighthawk X4S router and have an Ethernet cable ran to where I have the Nighthawk X6S extender,  is there a way to have the mesh WiFi work without having the WiFi extender connect to router via WiFi

    Hi sgibbers17,

                              Mesh will work only when extender is configured in extender mode, but not in AP mode.
