Extend Wifi to connect solar inverters using Netgear R6300 router to extend Nighthawk X4 R7500 wifi

Question

&nbsp; I have been trying to connect my R6300 router to my network which uses the R7500 router but have had such difficulty even though I have found a narrative of a "how to".&nbsp; It sounds so easy reading it, but things just don't work the way they are explained.&nbsp; Does anyone have suggestions as to how to do this?The R6300 is new, just out of the box.Windows 10

Step 1 in tom's guide: find a compatible router.&nbsp;the R6300 doesn't have an extender mode. Maybe with 3rd party firmware but not in stock form.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Both of those are speeds and not models.&nbsp;Extenders work pretty good but a lot depends on distance and what materials are between the extender/router. Certain materials block wifi extremely well (cement, brick, concrete, metal siding, foil lined insulation, etc)&nbsp; They need a decent signal to rebroadcast.&nbsp;Your best bet would be to speed check with a phone where you planned on putting the extender. If you can get decent speeds, then its probably reasonable to do.&nbsp;Keep in mind, standard extenders (single/dual band) drop throughput 50% just based off how they have to work.&nbsp;

how are you trying to connect it?&nbsp;Are you running an ethernet wire from the R7500 to the R6300?&nbsp;Are you trying to setup a wireless bridge?&nbsp;The R6300 doesn't have extender/repeater mode, so exactly what are you doing and trying to configure it like?&nbsp;

Good point,&nbsp;The 6300 was in a closet from Cox when they changed me to fiber optic and my 7500 was better than their 6300.&nbsp;&nbsp;What do you think about an extender like a Netgear AC750 or AC1200?&nbsp;&nbsp;It would be much easier and the outlet is on the wall just inside the inverters.
