Extending ATT Fiber Gateway

Can I use my Netgear Universal WiFi Range Extender WN3000RPv3 to extend the reach of my ATT Fiber Gateway?  Or do I have to rent an extender from ATT.  If the Netgear extended can be used, how do I c...

I'd recommend upgrading at some point as that's a lower performing extender.
