Extending WiFi in church

(Newbie - First post!) We have an N router in a community hall physically connected to our church building and a tortuous wiring route if extending CAT 5/5E to church. Signal at closest point to church is very weak. Two options intitially considered:

1. Site range extender as close as possible to church and configure as range extender. Not really successful because even at mid point either the incoming signal to the extender is too weak AND/OR the output signal from the extender is too far away from the WiFi device in church.

2. Configure as an access point hard wired to router and site in church. Works but need an awful lot of cable routing to be hidden.

QUERY: Can we "daisy chain" two EX6120 as range extenders, so that the first extender is positioned where it gets a good signal from the router and the second extende is positioned in the church - also receiving a good signal from the first exender?

If so, how should the two extenders be configured? And what would be the downside??

  • Option 2 is the way to go.  Daisy chaining extenders would result in horrible wireless throughput. One wireless extender to a base router already yeilds a 50 % throughput penalty..

Many Thanks! Exactly what I feared...
