Firmware problems EX6150v2 — AC1200 WiFi Mesh Extender
I had this extender working fine and then after a firware upgrade my IoT video doorbell stoped working for video.
I upgraded to the latest version and one change was that it would auto update the firmware without user knoledge, chioce or intervention thereafter. Smells like "Hardware as a Service". Another change is that you "had to" agree to netgear monitoring some aspect of the local network. And yet another (which caused the video dorbell problem) is that you cannot establish an end to end encypted connection through the extender.
Now I know this could CA issue but to me it realy smells rotten!
It was extreamly difficult to revert to a previous version of the firmware that didn't have these issues.
If you have one of tis model then I suggest you don't upgrade firmware.

What router are you connecting it to?
what firmware version did you install?
Did you set it up using wps or using the installation assistant?- inbox21Aspirant
I updated it to the latest firmware version via the HTTP interface. It will only suggest the latest version. It has no similar facility for a downgrade.
I set it up using the installation assistant that is entirely local unlike the version of assistant after the firmware upgrade. After the upgrade I "had to" register the device and I "had to" agree to new terms of service just to get into the HTTP config interface.
The wifi router is a ZTE Andriod 6.0 phone.
I had to download a file and go through a manual process to revert the firmware. I didn't recall the original firmware version so I reverted to the first available.
