Horrible Lag Spikes

Hi there, I just have built a new computer and needed a new network adapter. I was recommended the NightHawk and so I bought it. My old network adapter was a linksys that was very old, yet reliable. I have had this for 2 days and am getting horrible lag spikes that I am not getting on my other devices as well as other computer. I have tried everything that I have found upon looking up to fix the lag but it just keeps happening. All drivers are installed and my internet is very well and fast on other devices. I just was wondering if there is something I am missing and if there are any other recondmendations from the forums of people who have had these problems. Thank you.
