how do I connect my wifi range extender to my internet

My actual wifi and my Wifi Range Extender are showing up as two different wifis. I get internet when I connect to my wifi but when I connect to the Extender, nothing will load, what am I doing wrong?

    Hi chaseready,

     

    Is this your first time using the Extender?

     

    Power on your Extender, then press and hold the Factory Reset button for at least 10 seconds. Release the button and the Extender will restart.

     

    Please search for your Extender's model number here:

    http://support.netgear.com/for_home/default.aspx

    and download the user manual pdf file. Installation instructions are inside.

     

    On your computer, connect to the "NETGEAR_EXT" WiFi network.

    Open a web browser and go to mywifiext.net

    and follow the onscreen setup instructions. You will be able to rename your Extender's WiFi network name. For example: HOME_EXT

     

    Once setup, your Home_EXT will have access to your router's internet connection.
