How do I update my router in AP mode?

Question

I have a WNDR3400 I am using as an Access Point. I see there is newer firmware available. When I log into the unit is says no internet connection. It is working properly as Access Point and it is actually pretty nice. It is faster than my all in one Comcast "Dory" gateway.

But back to the issue. How do i get the firmware updated?

Download from support, log it to AP, updates,  browse to location you saved  FW

Since you had to ask you should think twice about doing this because it is working and may cause more grief than it's worth, since you're using it as AP.
