How to change WN3000RPv3 device name?
Hi there! Do anybody know how to change the default device name from "WN3000RPv3" to "any name"? Best regards Ian

Hello IanBorsini
Where are you trying to change the name?

Hi Darren!
I would like the WN3000RPv3 to show up on my router as ex. "Netgear extender" not "WN3000RPv3" as it does at the moment.
There are already too many devices, with odd names, on the router.

Hello IanBorsini
That would be a setting in the router to change the name of the attached device that you are wanting to change what router are you using?

Hi Darren
In other models of Netgear Extenders it is possible.
Here is how it is done in a Netgear AC1200 Wifi Range Extender:
Change the Extender’s Device Name
The default name is EX6150.
To change the extender’s device name:
1. On a computer or WiFi device that is connected to the extender network, launch a web browser.
2. In the address field of your browser, enter www.mywifiext.net.
3. When prompted, enter your email address and password.
4. Click the Menu icon.
The extender menu displays.
5. Select Settings > WiFi Settings.
The WiFi Settings screen displays.
6. Scroll down and click the IP address settings.
7. In the Device Name field, type a name.
8. Click the SAVE button.
Your settings are saved.I can't find any munu option like this for the WN3000RPv3 Extender, but I think/hope there is a "hidden" option somewhere. I've a hard time to belive that this is hardcoded in the device.
