Internet speed increase has caused extender to slow down

I have the WN2000RPTv2, and on Monday my cable and internet provider increased my internet speed from 20mbps to 30mbps :) . Before this change I was able to download @ approx. 15-18mbps via my extender. Now I am only able to download @ approx. 3-5mbps via my extender . I have rebooted and reset to factory settings all devices(modem, router, and extender). The modem and router are performing as expected based upon the increase. So clearly the extender is the problem. Since I have already reset it to factory settings and rebooted, what could the problem be?

  • That is WAN side so should remain the speed up to 30Mbps on extender as well

I assume wifi devices connecting to the main wireless SSID pulling upto 30Mbps correct? That is what I read ...
  • Unfortunately, my vocabulary isn't strong enough in this arena to be sure I'm answering your question correctly. When I connect to the router via wifi the download speed is approx. 25mbps, when connected to the router and extender via Ethernet it is in the 30mbps range. which are both improvements since the upgrade. However when connected to the extender via wifi the download speed is in the 3-5 mbps range
  • Does anyone have an answer?.

At this point I'm about done with Netgear! The customer service is a joke.

I understand my warranty has expired, but the fact that no one will even talk to me by email, phone, instant message or any other format is ridiculous!

I appreciate that you offer to talk if I pay $40, however the product only cost me $50, so for me to spend $40 so you can tell me the product needs to be replaced is absurd. I'd be better off spending that $40 on another product from a company who actually appreciates their customers and stands by their product.
  • I'm having a similar problem. This thread is not encouraging. :(
