Very comprehensive reply above.
I've reset every device and connection, completely reinstalled the extender and the problem still exists.
Within the Info page, t says everything is good, but atill no 5Ghz connection.

has anyone tried the older firmware versions like V1.0.0.8 or V1.0.0.4 and check if it has the same result?
