I am thinking that you are using fastlane - with the 5G radio in the extenders all connecting to the 5G radio in the router. Is that the case?
One thing to check is that you are getting a good connection between the extenders and the router. 5G has higher speeds close to the router, but it doesn't carry as far as 2.4G.
What color is the router LED on the extenders? Did you try reversing the configuration? That is set up one extender to use fastlane on 2.4 ghz, and make the client-facing network 5G.
