Is there a specific wireless channel that I should assign my router to? I have updated my router to the latest firmware. Also, I've notice about 10 different wifi signals that pop up as suggestions, not sure if that also affects my wireless signal.

You just got to see what wireless channel works best there are app on phones call wifi analytics that can help determine which channel is best Netgear has one on the android app store.
