Hi Hobbers,
If you are unable to connect to the extender with any of your password or access its' user interface, your next step will be to reset the extender and go through the setup process. Page 42 of the user manual on this link may help out. Page 13 of the installation guide here may also help out.

Thanks for your reply. The instructions you sent are the same as the ones supplied. At point 4 it says to select either of the two WiFi extender options. Whichever I select it asks me for a password - just like whenever you join a WiFi network. So I can’t get to the point of entering any https address because I cannot connect to the internet via the extender. I hope that explanation makes sense? All points 1 to 4 are followed properly and the extender has the correct lights lit up. I have tried with an iPad and with an iPhone but no luck. I don’t see how to get past this point without entering a password.
please advise?
thanks

Hi Hobbers,
Are you able to login to the extender's UI using the supplied IP address from the router? This will allow you to confirm the password needed to connect to the extender's signal. Usually, it will be the same password as you main wireless networks' if you have selected that option.

I can’t connect to the extender using the supplied Internet address. The extender is plugged into the Ethernet cable which connects directly to the home router. The lights on the extender are green. The next step is to select either 2 or 5g connection from the available WiFi networks that I can see in my phone or iPad. At that point it says enter password (so at that point I have no internet connection and cannot enter an Internet address). There is nothing about entering a password in the supplied documents or on the NETGEAR site, and I can’t get any response from netgear customer service!

yesterday the "community" was down so I couldn't reply to the message asking if I still have the same problem. The installation is at my summer home and I'm not there for another week. Therefore I can't check if a complete reset will fix it. However I can say that Netgear have the worst customer service - I've reported this problem logging a support request the day I bought the extender and to date I've not even had a reply! Inspite of several reminders!
