Need Recommandation: wifi extender with different password

Question

I want to buy a wifi extender/repeater/booster. My original wifi has no password. I want the extender to build a wifi with different ID and a password. Is there any recommendation? If possible, please recommend some cheap ones and some nice ones.

Can ‎NETGEAR EX3800-100FRS or&nbsp;EX3700-100PES does the job? I bought two products from other brands. One cannot connect to a wifi without password. The other one could not set a different password from the original wifi. I want to make sure before purchase. Thank you in advance.

The wifi without password is provided by my student appartment. I bought a security camera of XiaoMi, which requaire a wifi with password.( I am now using my laptop hotspot as an extender temporarily)Yes, the wifi has a web portal(wifirst portal), but the Tp-link RE200 works normally, except it do not allow me to set a password.( It allow me to set a new SSID).If you have other suggestions for my problem, please tell me. Thanks.

You'll probably want something like a travel router that supports wisp mode.&nbsp;
Wisp mode allows you to connect to wireless signals with a portal and then rebroadcast your own network.&nbsp;
Some routers will run wisp mode (not netgear's) but most travel routers do.&nbsp;
Again, not all so its worth reading through their description for that mode.&nbsp;

There's a ton of different ones you could get from basic/cheap, to tribands, to AX extenders.&nbsp;

Before that, I'd work on getting security on your primary wifi.&nbsp;
